Our Story
Bilingual Garden was founded with a vision to create an engaging and effective way for children to learn languages naturally. Our approach combines proven language acquisition methods with fun, interactive activities.
We believe that early exposure to multiple languages opens doors to cultural understanding and creates lasting cognitive benefits that serve children throughout their lives.
Juliana Shoumbert
Mother / Founder / Instructor
Juliana Shoumbert was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Texas at Dallas. She also holds a Texas Bilingual Teacher Certification for Early Education - 6th grade and a Texas Gifted and Talented Teacher Certification. Mrs. Shoumbert is a cofounder of Bilingual Marketplace.
Juliana began teaching in 2011. Since then, she has taught bilingual and monolingual students ranging from Pre-kindergarten to 5th grade in the Texas Public Schools System. She has also worked with Gifted and Talented children. During her time in the Public Education System, she has focused on attending conferences and workshops where she has learned the most up-to-date strategies for second language acquisition. Following her passion for teaching children and for helping children learn a second language, in 2017, Juliana founded Bilingual Marketplace, a resource for bilingual teachers and parents, and Bilingual Garden as an extension to provide accessible Spanish immersion programs in Dallas, Texas.
